Hi, I’m Feykje! As an experienced Dutch language trainer and intercultural communication specialist, I help expats and non-native professionals gain confidence and fluency in Dutch.
Born and raised in the Netherlands, I moved to Barcelona in 2020 with lots of enthusiasm and a stubborn desire to “blend in perfectly”. I quickly realised that the last thing was an impossible mission. My Dutch identity and appearance shaped me, and culture shocks (from office habits to something as simple as buying bed sheets) affected my confidence and made me question my sense of independence.

But I realised I wasn’t alone.
My experiences changed how I see language. It’s not about flawless grammar or sounding like a native. It’s about speaking up clearly, confidently, and authentically, especially in contexts when it matters most. This way, we build trust, and become our own version of a ‘native’.
In my work, I bring together my background in language training, rethoric and intercultural guidance to help other international professionals find their voice in Dutch and the Dutch workplace.
